Both sets of tour guides and drivers were awesome. Have to take a star away for unfriendly to mobility challenged (like we older folks). A lot of extra walking (always due to construction, which I never observed). Would be great to have some where to set when waiting for the bus.

Exploring Philly on a Hop-on Hop-off tour

Philadelphia is a city of two flavors – on the one hand, it’s steeped in two centuries of American history, and on the other, it is an eclectic melting pot of cultures, known for pretzels, cheesesteaks, and the street art adorning every neighborhood.

Such a vibrant city deserves to be explored in a hassle-free, flexible way – Hop-on Hop-off bus tours. With a 1/2/3-day pass in your hand, you can get on and off these buses at any of the stops along a pre-designated route and discover popular attractions on your bucket list. Get your pass now and begin exploring!

How to choose the best Hop-on Hop-off tour

It can be difficult to select the ideal Hop-on Hop-off tour, especially when all the operators in Philadelphia offer premium services to ensure your comfort. However, there are a few factors that you can consider before choosing the tour that will be the perfect fit for your needs.

  • More routes: All bus tour operators in Philly take you to some of the city’s most popular attractions, including the Rocky Steps, the Rodin Museum, Betsy Ross House & more. However, if you’re looking to cover as much of the city as possible, consider the City Sightseeing Pass, which will take you to 28 iconic spots in the city spread across 2 unique bus routes.
  • Budget considerations: A single dollar can make all the difference when you’re traveling on a tight budget. Whether you’re a student traveler hoping to make the most of your Philly adventure or a spontaneous spirit looking to explore a few landmarks for affordable rates, the Big Bus Hop-on Hop-off Pass would be the ideal fit for you.
  • Night tours: If you’re a Philly native or a tourist hoping to glimpse the city from a fresh & sparkling perspective, hop on City Sightseeing’s night tour. Departing twice every evening, this 90-minute tour is a great way to take in the sights of the city from the comfort and safety of your open-top deck seat.

Both Big Bus and City Sightseeing offer 1/2/3-day passes. So, which one should you pick? The answer depends on your budget, your travel schedule, and the type of traveler you typically are. This guide can help narrow down your choices for your Philly trip.

  • 1-day pass: Is it your first day in the city, and you want to avoid the hassle of public transportation? Or perhaps you want to see Philly’s highlights even though you’re short on time? Then the 1-day pass would be the ideal option for you. Grab one right away and head to famous landmarks like the Rocky Steps, Liberty Bell, Rodin Museum & much more!
  • 2-day pass: If one day feels like too little time for you to properly deep dive into Philly’s diverse history, culture, and cuisine, get the 2-day pass. There would be no need to rush – you can take your time exploring attractions and also explore off-the-path cafes, shops, and local markets.
  • 3-day pass: For relaxed travelers who prefer to fully immerse themselves in the soul of the city, a 3-day pass would come in handy. You can explore attractions flexibly, look for underrated haunts, shop for souvenirs, dine at popular restaurants, and so much more with the amount of time you’ll have on your hands.
