Tour was an hour. Stops to hop off hop on covered all the tour highlights. Bus arrived every half hour morevor less on time. Tannoy descriptions of historical matters although only in English was interesting and with odd joke thrown in was very informative. Drivers very helpful. Worth money . Will use again .
Loved the tour. Good commentary, and very pleasant driver. Buses were on-time. Only suggestion would be better signposting when coming out of Chester Railway Station (there is a guide to the various bus-stops, but it's quite small, and there is no 'red' sign on the bus-stop.
I loved it all apart from the fact that the bus didn't turn up at the railway station although it was according to the automated sign supposed to (we waited but it didn't come) so we walked but we were so pleased that the last one turned up that all is forgiven and next time it will turn up and an awesome will be awarded. Thank you
Great! Not crowded! We were allowed to take our ice creams onboard. Commentary was good and matched where we were. We did the whole tour, was an hour.
Easy enough to purchase tickets. Been to Chester many times but using the hop on hop off bus and listening to the commentary gave us insight into the history of Chester.
It was brilliant in fact we went on it twice as enjoyed it that much
Excellent way to see Chester and learn of its history . Pleasant and helpful driver. Definitely recommended!
We used it a lot over 2 days The drivers were all very considerate with us getting down from the upstairs
Easy to get around, good information about Chester, easy to book online 👍
I am not a tourist , i live local. But had a great time going round on the tour. Nice Weather, good breeze on open top bus. Informative and friendly helpful driver. No way would you see a fraction of Chester if on foot. Id highly reccomend the tour hop on and off bus .
If you only have a day to spend in Chester, don’t worry! You can still see as many sights as you can within a limited time frame if you have a Hop-on Hop-off pass.

Soak up the 360º panoramic views of Chester from your seat, tune into an informative audio guide, and dive into the streets of this medieval city with its antiquated charms. Go souvenir shopping at Foregate, take a stroll down the River Dee as the sun sets, and wander along the city’s perimeter, admiring the Roman walls rising around it.
Grosvenor Street is Chester's main shopping boulevard, lined with elegant Georgian-era facades, upscale boutiques, and cozy cafés, perfect for both window-shopping and a proper retail spree. You’ll spot the Grosvenor Museum tucked away here, featuring Roman tombstones and local art, making your coffee stop feel unexpectedly cultural. At the southern end, you’ll come across St. Francis’ Church, a beautiful red sandstone parish with lovely stained glass.
