Without a doubt this is the best way to see the entire local area, even places you would not otherwise explore, get your bearings, learn more about the city and its history and culture, all while deciding what you really want to visit and would prefer to skip. Adding the ability to hop on and hop off at will is a great convenience.

The route was not like on the map. That was due to construction work or also other events. Therefore also the audioguide was confusing. Also taking the oposite direction meant that the indication of left and right or infront and behind were of course the opposite. I would expect more adaptions to the audioguide or an explanation on the website /bus that informas about these issues.

We booked a Munich city route, which we found, when we turned up to the central office, was not available on that day. The stops on the two alternative routes we were offered were so far apart & so limited in number that we missed out on lots of interesting sites in between the stops. It was not really a 'Hop on Hop Off' route (as the stops were so few), but a 'limited stops' style of ticket.

We were informed about everything worth knowing. With the 48-hour ticket, you saved the cost of any public transport, as it also went to destinations outside the city center. For example, the English Garden or Nymphenburg Palace. Or the Opympia grounds.
