Blue route
This route’s a sunshine-soaked loop of Gozo’s ancient wonders, red-gold beaches, hilltop towns, and fishing villages. Start in Victoria and glide to Marsalforn’s seaside charm, stroll Ggantija’s 5,500-year-old temples, sink your toes into Ramla’s red sands, admire Nadur’s quiet beauty, then wrap it up with sea views back at Mgarr.
Popular stops: Marsalforn, Ggantija Temples & Ramla
Purple route
This Gozo route is all about countryside charm, quirky villages, clifftop churches, and dramatic coastal views. The bus zips from Mgarr’s harbour charm to Xewkija’s giant church, through crafts at Savina, cliffs at Dwejra, shrine stops at Ta’ Pinu, and ends with a stop at Xlendi.
Popular stops: Ta'Pinu, Xlendi, Dwejra
A very good plan for visiting most of Gozo. We recommend leaving as early as possible to get the most out of the trip. A refurbishment of some buses would be welcome.

Best part was the buses were reliably on time. Enjoyed being on a bus with other tourists and not commuters. This made it easier to talk to others on the trip about their experiences.
Easy booking and great experience
I have got confised by the website, which doesn't show the rote before you pay. I paid for 2 tickets in error for Gozo ( we we were based in Silema and wanted to see Valletta & around there). As we paid for the trip the same day- it was not refundable, we never used it, just waisted money for 2 tickets. There were no way to return the tickets.
Decided to cancel the trip altogether. Bus was full and took off. Not prepared to wait another half hour so decided to get a private driver.
The bus trip was great and covered every important part of Gozo. Only criticism is guide system and earphones never worked for us and others agreed.
Bus was fairly punctual. Driver negotiated the narrow streets very well. Gozo is a beautiful island and there is much to see. The ten minute stop at the Shrine is a good idea - just long enough to get off and take a few photos. Maybe this could be done in other places, too.
The buses are easy to find and stop very close to the sites to be visited. There are lovely views of the countryside and villages. The driver was also good at advising travellers on whether or not they had time to do the tour, so as to be back in time for the ferry. On both itineraries, having taken the 1st bus of the day, we were only able to visit Dwejra, Marsalforn, Ramla and Victoria due to lack of time, so you have to choose carefully what you really want to see. As for the audio commentaries, I can't judge as the system didn't work at our seat. We just enjoyed it with our eyes! A good experience.

The essentials of Gozo but not enough time to do everything in a day. too bad.we can't stop at every point... some deserve less than 45 minutes, others more.the choices are not easy to make. very friendly drivers and Bravo for the tight passages!!!

I found that the drivers were not friendly and I would have presumed working in a tourist role that a positive attitude and friendly disposition was a pre-requisite for employment !
Easy to use with friendly, helpful driver.
the cars were very old, so not every audioguide was working properly! and the informations were very poor
Very kind and professional drjvers

It was a comprehensive tour along the north route on the island of Malta. I wasn't sure whether to do it or not, but it was 100% worth it. Get ready for a long trip (over 3 hours and à half, without hopping off...). I would recommend to do the first 2-3 days upon arrival to have a good overview.
Malta was beautiful...........
Too long distance for a Hop on Hop off / not enough buses (frequently) / only one direction of the buses
That were 2 different buslines that come only every hour. Not as in big cities like Rome and Athens, where you can hop on and hop off regularly They do not come nearby important acheologic sites like hypogeum or Taxien. Instead, they stop at big hotels that have only importance as you stay there.
Too long, no connection, 3.5 hours of not hearing anything, too full and for the price! An imposition!

The Polish ersion of the audio guide is unfortunately unprofessional. Both the text and the narrator who reads the text, who is confused every now and then. In addition, the text is often read at the wrong time - it tells about something we can't see at the time... Unfortunately, the buses were not always on schedule due to traffic jams. I missed information about the real time of arrival of the bus at the stops - maybe it would be possible to do this in the app? It would make planning a tour easier for tourists.
Did this with my partner. The buses were mostly on time, except in Valletta where we waited like 25 mins. Otherwise, really handy way to get from A to B. The commentary made us laugh—lots of random facts about knights and pirates. Not all stops are marked well, so keep your map handy.
Honestly, such an easy way to see Malta without any planning. The drivers were joking with us and the weather was AMAZING. Would do again!
We had a great day out with the hop-on hop-off. The sun was shining and we took a million pics from the open deck. The staff are super friendly. Don’t forget sunscreen!
Took the bus with friends and had a great time. The top deck is the place to be if it’s sunny. Audio guide could be improved but overall a fun way to see Malta.
Did the bus tour solo and loved it. Weather was perfect and the staff were helpful. The map is kinda basic, so keep your phone handy.
My girlfriend and I used this to see the Blue Grotto and Mdina. Super handy, but we had to wait 20 mins for the return bus at one stop. Bring a book just in case.
First time in Malta, did the hop-on bus with my girlfriend. BEST way to see so many places in one day. We loved Mdina and stopped for pastries there (get the pastizzi!). Buses are clean. Commentary is a bit basic but helpful. Only wish the maps showed more food stops.
Never thought I’d love a bus tour but this was great. Malta is gorgeous and this is the easiest way to see it all. Staff are helpful and the commentary is decent.
Went on a whim and wow—totally worth it. I sat upstairs for most of the ride and the views were EPIC! Not too crowded in April, which was great. Would do again.
Went solo. Couldn’t believe how easy this made it to see the whole island. The staff were so nice when I lost my ticket—they printed me a new one. Five stars!
Loved being able to hop off and explore tiny villages. The driver even pointed out his favorite bakery. Super friendly crew!
Enjoyed the day. The buses came pretty much on time. Some stops are a bit hidden so look for the red signs. Worth it if you want to see a lot in one go.
Did this solo. Super easy to figure out, didn’t need to ask anyone for directions. Some stops are a little far from the main sights, so be ready to walk a bit. Still, makes getting around a breeze.
Loved the hop-on hop-off! Got to see all the big sights without stressing. The staff were super nice and the weather was PERFECT.
We did this as a family and it was a hit! Kids loved sitting up top, and we didn’t have to worry about parking anywhere. The staff was helpful with our stroller. Would recommend for families.
The City Sightseeing Gozo tours split the island into two delightfully contrasting routes, perfect for first-timers wanting the full scoop with no time to waste. The Purple Route takes you from Mgarr’s harbour to Xewkija’s giant rotunda, local crafts at Savina, on to the coastal drama of Dwejra, and ends with a sunset-worthy splash at Xlendi. Meanwhile, the Blue Route dives into Gozo’s ancient east: Marsalforn’s laid-back seaside, the prehistoric Ggantija Temples, Ramla’s red-gold sands, Nadur’s sleepy charm, and back to Mgarr. Together, they serve up a fuss-free, open-top crash course in Gozo’s greatest hits.
Gozo’s main port, boasting colourful boats, limestone cliffs, and cafés. It’s the island’s scenic entry point and a hub for ferries, buses, and seaside strolls.
The full loop duration of the Gozo hop-on hop-off bus depends on the route you choose, but it takes anywhere between 1 - 1.5 hours without getting off. To explore properly, set aside a full day.
The tour is great for first-timers or cruise visitors, as it’s an easy way to see key sights efficiently.
