Athens HOHO bus tour
Temple of Poseidon & Cape Sounion
Hop on hop off interesting over 1 day, but not 2, as there was too much waiting at certain stops ... we preferred to return from glyfada by tram/metro (€1.90/pers). Cape Sounion is a great way to round off a day, but don't forget the 20€/pers for access to Poseidon's temple and ... the sunset is pretty, even if it's everywhere in the world!

The sunset at the cape was breathtaking. Although quite cold due to the wind.

Acropolis & Parthenon
It's was fast and we skipped queue and audio experience was good . Prepaid booking helped us to save time and we had spent more time for experience
It was a lovely painless expierence. The ticketing app worked well and we breezed through to the main event. We have a 7 year old and the pacing and movement of the venue worked well for him
With a little research/ reading about the area and then using the recorded tour, I had a great experience and walked away well learned. I also saved some money in regards to a $100 tour to use in other areas of the city.....for more delicious food! God knows those calories will stay with me longer than my memories. That is why I take a lot of pictures. 😹
My trip to Athens lasted only 3 days, but it was outstanding! We visited the Ancient Agora during the morning on the first day and the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sunius from mid-afternoon until evening. Tickets to the Acropolis included everything from the Parthenon to the Theater of Dionysus. As for the tour to the Temple of Poseidon, it was outstanding! From the super nice and helpful guide, to the comfortable bus ride of about 2 hours to the wonderful sight of the temple on the promontory. It was windy, both at the Acropolis and Cape Sunio. There were many people at both places, the Acropolis and the Temple of Poseidon being the most visited monuments in all of Greece. For the Acropolis, I highly recommend going very early, such as 8 o'clock or arriving as early as half an hour before the opening, otherwise you will find a lot of tourists as happened to me. As for the service in general, it is really great and fun! I highly recommend this ticket!

The Acropolis was amazing. Booked the earliest session which was the best time. The hoo on and hoo off bus was seem less and let us explore so much of Athens at very little cost. The whole process was so easy and stress free.
Although lift was not working and I mobility problems, the staff were exceptionally helpful, enabling us to jump queue. We took it slowly resting when we could. But was so worth it amazing.
I loved everything about the easiness of booking it, the place was not crowded. It was very warm and I found the audiobook very helpful. I also like the sunset but you have to buy extra ticket for the temple of Poseidon
Very much. A very complete service and practical tour, which makes it special to know comfortably the area of most tourist interest. It would be more interesting if it was extended to a night tour.

Smooth . Quick . Last minute yet done. So very happy to deal with the site. I think they are doing good work to help everyone
An unforgettable journey through history! The Acropolis tour was a perfect blend of breathtaking views, ancient wonders like the Parthenon and Erechtheion, and insightful storytelling from our guide. We chose the 6 pm time slot, and it was perfect, was not too crowded. Standing atop Athens, surrounded by ruins and mythology, made it truly magical. A must-do experience for anyone visiting the city!
We liked paths leading all the way to the top. They were easily accessable and easy to walk along. The views were spectacular!
Amazing site to visit! Walking around the Parthenon gave me a feeling of un explained gratitude towards the ancient people who once rulles this land. Goosbumps!
I arrived to the Acropolis at 7.30 a.m for my 8a.m booking. There are various shop type stalls around to purchase water, drinks, food etc... water is 50cent for a 500ml bottle which is very reasonable. There is a toilet at the entrance, underground which I recommend using because there are no toilets or they are out of service once you enter. The toilet is free but it is recommend to give a small tip for upkeep. Entering the Acropolis was easy. The queue does get large but if you have a pre booked ticket you'll be fine and in quickly. You can buy tickets on the day but that is a slower process. Probably only ideal if you need a student discount. Going early is essential in my opinion as it was still warm, sunny but the UV is much lower. Despite this I needed to top up my sunscreen as you do spend approx 1-2 hours there and that is just walking up and down, getting photos and reading all about the Acropolis. You get great views of the city and an excellent historical education and appreciation as you walk around the Acropolis. There is a lack of shade so be prepared for that.
The architecture was incredible and so moving. The process to buy tickets online and the overall experience was well worth the money and heat we visited it in! Would highly recommend, an absolute must when visiting Athens and a highlight of our trip!
My acropolis experience was excellent, from the ease of purchasing my tickets to entry with absolutely no waiting in line. Staff at the acropolis was very pleasant and hospitable. They answered all my questions. I would definitely come back to visit . Thank you for a wonderful visit that I will have fond memories of of.
Was a great experience . Although it was very hot I managed to climb up the track to see the beautiful acropolis in all its beauty. I have been to it before on my last trip to Athens 7 years ago but needed to go again. Was just magical and also the view of Athens. It is one my most favourite cities!!!! And the hop in and off bus was great too. Also off at the Olympic stadium which was so cool to see :)
Booking through Headout made the amazing Acropolis visit effortless! It was a great experience in such a historical monument at the middle of the high season. The combo hop-on hop-off bus was great too : clean, friendly staff offered great tips, and the audio guide enriched our trip. Highly recommend for a smooth Athens adventure!
What a great experience to see the sights and hear the commentary and to be able to use it for 2 days- one price. Really worth doing. We even went to the Glyfada beach as well as the acropolis, syntygma sq, monstiaki restaraunts, change of the guards and the Plaka .
Fantastic experience! The bus is located directly at the Piraeus port exit, frequency about 30 minutes. Allows you to see the Acropolis on your own, with digital skip-the-line tickets and cross the Red Line to the center of the capital. Practical, fast, inexpensive for families with children who want an experience with flexible pace.

Everything is great !!! The guide Maria is very nice in her work, she speaks many languages and that's great, the stop at the restaurant cafe "Camino " for dinner , their pizza is delicious. The food at "Eufrosino" is very tasty, recommendable to buy Tour with food included. The Monasteries are spectacular, heavy walking to get to some of them, but worth it, wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. A tour not to be missed if you travel to Greece.

As someone deeply passionate about Ancient Greek history and mythology, visiting the Acropolis was nothing short of a pilgrimage. Arriving in the early evening offered a perfect balance: the golden light cast a soft, almost divine glow across the Parthenon and surrounding ruins, bringing the myths I’ve long studied vividly to life. The crowds were definitely present — a testament to the site’s global significance — but they didn’t feel overwhelming. There was enough space to pause, reflect, and even hear your own thoughts as you gazed over Athens, imagining the philosophers, poets, and gods who once filled these same hills with ideas and legends. Whether you’re a devoted classicist or just curious about Greece’s ancient heart, I can’t recommend the early evening slot enough. The light, the breeze, the energy — it all makes the Acropolis feel not like a ruin, but a living piece of history.
It was quick and extremely easy to book. Receiving the tickets immediately in the app. This allowed us to join the short queue at the allocated time.
An amazing experience taking you back in time. The remains are exquisite and the views outstanding. An early visit is advisable to avoid the crowds and the heat in Summer.
Just being able to see and touch a part of history was awesome. It was very crowded but because we bought tickets for the 8 AM entry we were able to see everything before the temperatures got too hot. It was a long walk but worth it.
4pm slot, not too busy. However it was very hot during this time, so keep this in mind. The sights and the history were amazing.

Easy to access online or through QR code. I do think it should be clearer up front the audio tour is through the app not on a device you collect at the museum. As an international traveler downloading apps can be difficult. Overall easy process and lovely museum.

I loved the way the Acropolis Museum blends ancient history with modern architecture. The layout made it easy to explore the artifacts while feeling connected to the original site, which is visible through the glass floors and windows. I was especially fascinated by the Parthenon Gallery, where the sculptures are displayed in the same layout as the original temple. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the explanations helped me truly understand the significance of what I was seeing. It felt like walking through time.

Purtroppo l'audioguida è funzionata solo nel tragitto tra Pireo e Acropoli, non durante il tour della città.
Everything is fine, but I would have put a ventilator on the top rows, as in the front it si too hot and no windows open. So a small ventilator would do a great job.
Perfect way of seeing as much as possible if you stay one day in Athens. One of the line was without rooftop at the upper level at the middle of a hot day. Very challenging. You can move to the lower AC part but there is no such a view. Not all the players for audio guide are working. Sometimes the audio guide is not very sinnchronised don't is not clear what/where to look.
The schedules of the Costa line are wrong. At 3:47 p.m. it stops at Glifada City Center, at 4:03 p.m. at Glifada, and then at 4:40 p.m. Glifada City Center. Not having real-time visibility on the runs, especially those out of town, is a problem.

Good informations. The drivers on the hop and of busses were always kind and helpfull
There was confusion with the bus stop and also the audio was not operating properly
Great way to get to know the city centre and the main attractions. The lady who gave us our tickets was very helpful
Very poor and often non-functioning audioguide content

Attraction timings: 8am - 3pm
Route name: Orange line
If you are spending just one day in Athens, consider a combination of the Orange and Yellow Lines.
If you have two days to explore Athens, make sure to take all four routes of the Sights of Athens hop-on hop-off tour to make the most out of your trip. Here is a possible itinerary that incorporates all four routes:
Day 1 - Orange and Blue Lines: Your tour will begin at Syntagma Square, Old Parliament, as you catch the bus towards the Acropolis Parthenon. After your stroll through the Acropolis, shift to the Blue Line for the Piraeus Cruise, which includes a visit to the planetarium, a close view of the Temple of Poseidon, and a few extra stops. You can get back to the Orange Line at the Acropolis to continue your tour of the city and its attractions. The Old Town of Plaka, which lies close to the Acropolis, is home to several local-run taverns that offer Greek delicacies such as Keftedes (Greek-style meatballs) and Tzatziki (a cucumber-garlic dip).
Day 2 - Yellow and Green Lines: Your second day in Athens is meant to be a beachside getaway! You can take the bus from the Acropolis Parthenon to Glyfada. Experience the serene beauty of the Glyfada and Kosmas beach sides, before you get down. You can either continue on the Yellow Line or take a break here and shift to the Green Line, which is a brief, 20-minute detour that takes you toward some of the less-known beaches in Athens, including Astir Beach and Vouliagmeni Lake. Following the detour, you can get back on the Yellow Line and finish your trip through the city of Athens, before you are dropped off at the starting point.
Yes, the tour is meant to be flexible. You can hop on and off at any location mentioned in the tour itinerary and even explore the city on your own.
Your Sights of Athens tour tickets usually grant you access to all the bus routes or lines, allowing you to hop on and off at any of the available stops and even change your lines midway through the tour. Additionally, you will have access to free Wi-Fi and a map of the city onboard, multilingual audio guides, and complimentary headsets for your guide.
The Sights of Athens buses are available at regular intervals depending on the route you prefer. You can find detailed information, stops, and timetables for the bus routes here.
When visiting Athens' historical sites, dress comfortably yet respectfully, especially at religious locations. Avoid loud conversations or disruptive behavior, check photography rules, and respect boundaries to help preserve these culturally significant places.
Yes, multilingual audio guides are available in Spanish, Turkish, Chinese, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, Portuguese and Russian.
The best time to visit Athens is in spring (March to May) or fall (September to November) for mild weather and fewer crowds. However, fall is better preferred if you want to explore the city and the beaches.
The Green Line offers a quieter, more relaxed experience, taking you to lesser-known beaches like Astir Beach and Vouliagmeni Lake, away from the main city crowds.
