Acropolis & Parthenon
Meravigliosa esperienza. Tutto perfetto consiglio scarpe comode cappello e protezione solare. Il sito è conservato benissimo Audio guida in italiano molto utile e dettagliata per la città vecchia ricca di monumenti, chiese e edifici storici
Good atmosphere, from the audience. It would be nice if there were a few more information boards. The kiosk wanted €7.50 for a pack of pringels which is extortionate. The general prices were very high, but this exceeded that.

The package is worth it, especially because it includes the entrance to the Acropolis and watching the sunset at the temple of Poseidon is beautiful. What I think is confusing is the beginning of the tour. We waited at the appointed place 15 minutes before our time and no one showed up. Then we went to exchange tickets and entered the Acropolis but we missed the first part of the tour.
Crow de were very busy and slow at 9am, hear at that point was extremely hot. Doesn't seem to be any real procedure in place to deal with the crowds.
The pick-up points were clear, uncluttered and precise, so there was nothing to report on that score. The sites we visited were magnificent and well worth the detour - and the weather was just right too 😍. The only negative point was the temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion. We had the (less pleasant) surprise to discover, once there, that we had to add €20 from our own pocket to gain access to the site. This point should be mentioned more clearly in the advert! Having said that, our guide was adorable, which helped us get over the hump 😊. In conclusion: a great day out, definitely worth doing again! But the details regarding entrance fees really should be better specified, for example: "Tickets for the temple of Poseidon are not included." Thank you for a memorable experience.

We arrived just before 8am and were a little disappointed that there was already a huge queue. However once the gates opened at 8, the pre-ordered QR codes were read really quickly and everybody got through the gates very efficiently. By the time we left there were a lot of people coming in, many from cruise ships so earlier was definitely better.
The climb was not that tough what I had thought. The audio guide was very helpful through which came to know the history of Parthenon and Acropolis
It was even more impressive than we could have anticipated. Of course it was crowded, but not to the extern that you couldn't take pictures without herds of people in it. The uphill walk wasn't too bad, and the cleanliness of the surroundings stood out.
Visit to the Acropolis without any problems. Trip to Cape Sunio for the Temple of Poseidon very well organized, audio guide in Italian interesting and well detailed along the way. Staff efficient and knowledgeable. Perhaps the price of the ticket to see the Temple could be included in the package, it would be a useful element of clarity.

Interesting tour. Slightly wrong gps point for the meeting point. It would be better to mention that this is the main entrance.

Excellent experience. The place is impressive, both the historical heritage and the landscape that is enjoyed at the same time.

The Parthenon was crowded, as expected. The Cape Sounion trip was excellent: great quide with positive energy. Beautiful views from the Temple of Poseidon. Highly recommended!
The Acropolis site and surrounding areas are a must-see! You do still have to get in a line and join those who booked the same time as you, but the line goes very fast and they start letting folks in 15 minutes prior to your chosen time. The audio was nice to have as well as it added more context. We went to the Acropolis museum right after (different ticket) and that closed the experience superbly!
If it were not for what the ancient builders of the agora acropolis and the beautiful Greek statuary left behind, Athens would not be so much visited today ... chaotic and poorly maintained city

It's a very remarkable place. Hard to fathom the timeline. Well preserved, and not too difficult to get to. Quite busy, but the key is to get in early.

Easy to use, friendly attendant, and bus drivers
Some of the audio guide didn't work and overall I would have expected more information. It was better on the Piraeus route

Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and we ran late because we got lost getting to the meeting point and they were so helpful in getting us there in time to join the others! It was wonderful!
The bus makes its last trip from Acropolis very early at 6.15p.m. We waited for the blue bus for over an hour because I had understood that it ran until 8pm. We had to walk to the train station to buy a ticket to return

Frequency was a useful, and key feature. So much to see, do (& eat & drink). So wasn't losing lots of time waiting for a bus to turn up. (Certainly a contrast with booking "day trips" organised by some companies). We were staying in Athens - & it was really nice to be able to jump off, visit somewhere & do something, then jump on without much waiting. And let's be honest, there is so much to do, to see, to enjoy.
Well-informed when departing from the cruise ship in Piraeus. Easy to take the different lines. Attractive price for two days.

Buses are spot on time. Friendly drivers and others staff who are helpful in stopping at other places on request if on the route. How they navigate the crazy traffic defies understanding. Price is very reasonable for up to 2 days riding around.
There was confusion with the bus stop and also the audio was not operating properly
Great way to get to know the city centre and the main attractions. The lady who gave us our tickets was very helpful
The audio guide in German was good The impression of the inner area of the city was good.

Attraction timings: 8am - 3pm
Route name: Orange line
If you are spending just one day in Athens, consider a combination of the Orange and Yellow Lines.
If you have two days to explore Athens, make sure to take all four routes of the Sights of Athens hop-on hop-off tour to make the most out of your trip. Here is a possible itinerary that incorporates all four routes:
Day 1 - Orange and Blue Lines: Your tour will begin at Syntagma Square, Old Parliament, as you catch the bus towards the Acropolis Parthenon. After your stroll through the Acropolis, shift to the Blue Line for the Piraeus Cruise, which includes a visit to the planetarium, a close view of the Temple of Poseidon, and a few extra stops. You can get back to the Orange Line at the Acropolis to continue your tour of the city and its attractions. The Old Town of Plaka, which lies close to the Acropolis, is home to several local-run taverns that offer Greek delicacies such as Keftedes (Greek-style meatballs) and Tzatziki (a cucumber-garlic dip).
Day 2 - Yellow and Green Lines: Your second day in Athens is meant to be a beachside getaway! You can take the bus from the Acropolis Parthenon to Glyfada. Experience the serene beauty of the Glyfada and Kosmas beach sides, before you get down. You can either continue on the Yellow Line or take a break here and shift to the Green Line, which is a brief, 20-minute detour that takes you toward some of the less-known beaches in Athens, including Astir Beach and Vouliagmeni Lake. Following the detour, you can get back on the Yellow Line and finish your trip through the city of Athens, before you are dropped off at the starting point.
Yes, the tour is meant to be flexible. You can hop on and off at any location mentioned in the tour itinerary and even explore the city on your own.
Your Sights of Athens tour tickets usually grant you access to all the bus routes or lines, allowing you to hop on and off at any of the available stops and even change your lines midway through the tour. Additionally, you will have access to free Wi-Fi and a map of the city onboard, multilingual audio guides, and complimentary headsets for your guide.
The Sights of Athens buses are available at regular intervals depending on the route you prefer. You can find detailed information, stops, and timetables for the bus routes here.
When visiting Athens' historical sites, dress comfortably yet respectfully, especially at religious locations. Avoid loud conversations or disruptive behavior, check photography rules, and respect boundaries to help preserve these culturally significant places.
Yes, multilingual audio guides are available in Spanish, Turkish, Chinese, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, Portuguese and Russian.
The best time to visit Athens is in spring (March to May) or fall (September to November) for mild weather and fewer crowds. However, fall is better preferred if you want to explore the city and the beaches.
The Green Line offers a quieter, more relaxed experience, taking you to lesser-known beaches like Astir Beach and Vouliagmeni Lake, away from the main city crowds.
