The hop-on hop-off thing is really convenient - allows you to explore the three islands at your pace while getting it all done in the same day. Important to keep in mind is that Isola Pescatori has nothing much to see and is pretty much a lunch stop between the other two islands 😀

I loved Stresa, Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands. The problem I ran into was that CMA Group, the local boat service, didn't pick me up from the designated pier to Isola Madre. I had to wait over an hour on Isola Pescatori for the next boat. This caused me to go off schedule and miss my train back to Milan.
