We did the Hop on Hop off busses in Palma De Mallorca as well as Barcelona! The absolute best way to get around and familiarize yourself with a city. Buses came by very frequently and the audio information that gives you highlights along the way was spectacular. This tour option is a must, the highlight of our trip.

Took the city bus tour with my mum last week and honestly, it was sooo chill. Weather was breezy (bring a light jacket if ur sitting up top), and the audio guide was pretty clear, though some stations just randomly didn’t work lol. We loved being able to hop off near the cathedral, grabbed gelato, and hopped back on. Seats are a bit hard but you’re not sitting that long. Staff waved at us every time, which cracked us up. Only thing—wish it went out to the beaches too, but for the city it’s DEF worth it. Would do again w/friends.

Went solo and honestly loved it. Sat up top, wind in my hair, got some killer pics (btw, bring your camera!). Route hits all the main spots—old town, port, castle. Driver was suuuper friendly, even gave me tips on where to eat after. Headphones were a bit glitchy at first but switched seats and all good. Worth every euro.

The cathedral was very impressive. It wasn't very crowded, so we were able to see everything well. Unfortunately we had kept to the official dress code (shoulders and knees covered). So we and a few others were very warm 🥵. Perhaps a small hint that the cathedral can apparently also be visited in very skimpy clothing.

Entry was easy to book and you didn't have to queue. Brilliant. The cathedral itself is wonderful to look at. It has a lot of Gaudi influences, which is why it immediately reminded me of the Sagrada Familia. An enchanting play of light through the many colored glasses. It is absolutely worth a visit.

Visitor tips for the Hop-on Hop-off Mallorca tour

  • We recommend starting your trip with a full loop of your route. This way, you get a sense of what to expect from the city: the crowds, the weather, and the traffic. You might even spot off-beat spots like restaurants, bars, or stores you’d like to visit.
  • Most tourist attractions have long ticketing queues. Save yourself time by purchasing your entry tickets online.
  • Pack light for your journey. Carry only your phone, wallet, keys, water, and sunscreen. Bulky luggage will not only take up more space on the bus, but will also exhaust you faster.
  • To avoid traffic congestions, plan your visits around Mallorca’s rush hour, which is between 7:30am to 9:30 am and 4:30pm to 7:30pm.
  • Wear lightweight clothes, sunglasses, and your best walking shoes for your day out. If you’re traveling in winter, wear scarves and sweaters, especially when exploring outdoors.
  • You can also get a combo ticket, so in addition to not dealing with the hassle of public transport, you also get entry to popular sites. Purchase skip-the-line tickets to the Palma Cathedral along with your Hop-on Hop-off pass.
