Booked the tickets online, which was fairly easy Then looking for a boarding stop This gave more problems, also because you don't know what they look like. So we went to grada familia to get on the bus. At first we were also wrong, but once we knew which buses and the staff explained the concept to us, our adventure could begin. Nice way of exploring the city with explanations in your own language about what you see along the way. And you can leave or re-enter the bus whenever you feel like it. This way you do not have to miss anything of Barcelona

We could literally get on and off as we liked. The commentary was informative and enabled us to decide which sights were best for us to actually visit. Definitely worth doing for us 👍

The route was interesting. Both lines are sufficiently long. There is an option to get off at different stops. We visited many sights.

Everything went really well. Friendly staff. It's a shame that the trip ends at 19:00, as Barcelona has a lot to offer at night too.

The hop on, hop off was a super good experience because we saw more than we could do on foot! The park was also worth it!

I bought my tickets online and headed off to the nearest stop, hopped on the next bus where they validated them and started the tour right away. I liked that there are 2 routes that cover pretty much all the points of interest. Another thing I appreciated was the audio description of all the sites in several languages.

Very convenient, did not have to wait long for the bus, buses run every 15 minutes. If you have little time and want to see as much as possible - sightseeing tour by bus is the way out!

The two bus routes allow you to see areas that you would be unlikely to reach especially if you only have a few days. The cost is quite high but it is really worth it, I would definitely repurchase it! I would only recommend checking the audio stations on the older buses because several were not working and if the bus is full you may be walking around without the audio guide explaining where you are.

Enjoyed how easy it was to get on and travel around the city, then switch lines and see the other part of the city. We used it in place of Uber or the metro and had no problem getting around.

The comments along the way were enlightening. The bus frequency was optimal, as were the stops close to tourist sites, except for Parc Güell, which is a 15-minute walk uphill.

Nice way to travel around the city, earphones work well and fun to listen to along the way. I thought you were plotted near the Sagrada and parc guell but that was still quite a walk. And watch carefully which route you take. You buy a ticket for 24 hours but can only take the bus until 19.00: we found that a pity.

There was not much going on at the time. The information on the bus was competent and helped us a lot. Once on the southern tour there were no stops which was very irritating.

The explanations, the friendliness of the staff It would have been good if the exact stops of the hop-on hop-off bus had been indicated on the map ( street names) on the map, especially if you continue on foot and get on at another place of interest.

This is a great service. It was very busy the day we were in Barcelona. The Barcelona Bus Turistic: Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus had multiple buses, sometime having two or three running right behind each other to help carry the load of customers.

It rained that day and as we wanted to be up top originally we were told we had to sit downstairs...when we hopped on again we were able to sit up top and then the rain started. The awning helped but every corner turned dumped water all over us by the side!!!

What a great experience! We were able to get the front row on the top level for a perfect view. We rode the entire red route then jumped on the blue bus for the the entire route. We plan to return and really hit all the tourist spots.

We loved the convenience of the HoHo. Unfortunately, on day two (May 22) the wait times were absolutely terrible. One and a half to two hours wait. This ended up costing us 40 euros for a taxi. You should have more busses or sell less tickets in order to accommodate the time of year.

The friendliness of the staff Disappointed I thought I would see the monuments at the different stops. It's more of a "bis" which allows you to go to the reserved visits than a tourist bus in which you can stay to see all the monuments (like in London).

For those who visit this wonderful Park it would be congliabile to go in the morning at the opening so that it is not too crowded to take photos, already around 11.00 am it fills up, especially near the iconic "iguana" on the staircase. Anyway a very unique experience for those who visit Barcelona and are interested in the architecture and natural beauty. Through your app I was also able to listen to an audio guide in Italian language that provided me with some interested notions. COSGLIATISSIMO!!!

I was lured to this provider's webpage thinking those are official venue tickets. With €26 per ticket I overpaid substantially. For one adult €8 and for the senior ticket €13. No tickets WITHOUT audio guide were "available". My total payment though the official web page would have been €31. Here I paid nearly €54. Ver grumpy!

Wonderful experience, the Segrada Familia. Clear booking and information in advance. Guide from Headout at the right time at the agreed place, entrance was efficient. Good explanations and adequate information. Highly recommended

I'll be honest, I was quite worried about getting into the venues because there were so many negative comments about Headout. I only saw these comments after I'd bought the tickets. Everything went well. We were only sad that we couldn't get a guide in Portuguese at the Sagrada Família.

Lovely guide. Lots of new information since our last visit 7 years ago. A great starter before we explored on our own. The light was fabulous, so atmospheric it brought a lump to my throat. Not a religious person but the skill and beauty of the architecture was stunning.

Sagrada Familia was amazing! So beautiful.. the meeting up was a little confusing because there are so very many people there and our guide was later than we were and the link to the location was wrong. The picture and description were correct. The guide was pleasant and the ease of entry improved compared to general entry. I liked that the guided part was relatively short and we could explore on our own as long as we wanted. The transition was a little awkward, like Bye! ok, didn't realize you were done with us. Definitely worth seeing and satisfied with experience despite the crowds and heat.

I’d recommend this to others because Its simple awesome palce to visit. The meeting place person needs to standout more so you can find them easily as was concerning. The overall experience was very good, you need to guided entry to explain the architechture of the church and its history etc was a very good 30 mins talk :-) The museum is a must do along with thier shop of course that you can't avoid.

How to choose the best Hop-on Hop-off tour

While all Hop-on Hop-off operators in Barcelona ensure a comfortable and informative way to explore the city, the key differences lie in their routes, perks, sustainability efforts, and additional features. Here's a guide to help you decide which tour suits your travel style:

  • Premium Experience: Barcelona Bus Turístic stands out as a premium option. It offers you the most comprehensive route coverage across its Blue and Red routes. The inclusion of official tour guides on board, makes it an ideal tour for you if you appreciate added guidance, beyond pre-recorded commentary to provide live insights and answer your questions, and are willing to spend a little more for a top-tier experience.
  • Budget-Friendly: If you want to watch your expenses but are still eager to explore Barcelona’s key attractions, Barcelona City Tour offers excellent value. With 34 stops across its Green (East) and Orange (West) routes, it hits all the main landmarks, from the Sagrada Familia to Park Güell. It’s a reliable option that balances affordability with coverage, making it perfect if you want to stick to the essentials
  • Sustainability: If you’re an eco-conscious traveler, Barcelona City Tour leads the charge in sustainability. It was the first Spanish company to introduce 100% electric buses and continues to expand its hybrid fleet. By choosing this operator, you can explore Barcelona’s vibrant streets while reducing your carbon footprint.
  • Convenience and Tech Features: Barcelona City Tour buses arrive every 9-13 minutes, ensuring you spend more time exploring and less time waiting. On the other hand, Barcelona Bus Turístic varies between 5-25 minutes, depending on the season. Both operators offer mobile apps for added convenience—Barcelona City Tour’s app excels in real-time bus tracking, while Barcelona Bus Turístic’s app shines in route planning and ticket management.

Choose your Barcelona Hop-on Hop-off tour based on your preferences for route coverage, budget, and added perks. Whether you’re looking for a premium experience, eco-friendly travel, or a value-packed adventure, there’s an option to match your plans and make your time in Barcelona unforgettable!

Tips to make the best of your Hop-on Hop-off Barcelona tour

  • Barcelona’s most popular spots, like Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, can get packed quickly, especially in the morning. By hopping on the bus when it first starts, you'll avoid the rush and get prime seating.
  • Get a city card, like the Barcelona Card, if you want to visit multiple attractions. The card often includes access to the Hop-on Hop-off bus as well as discounts or free entry to places like the Picasso Museum or the famous Casa Batlló. It’s perfect if you’re planning to explore more than just the bus tour, as it saves money and streamlines your plans.
  • Combo tickets are a fantastic way to save money and time. They include exciting offers that combine the Hop-on Hop-off bus with entry to major attractions like the stunning Sagrada Familia or the iconic Camp Nou.
  • Dress appropriately for attractions with a dress code, especially churches like Sagrada Familia. Modest clothing is required—no flip-flops, short skirts, or bare shoulders.
  • Keep your bag light and simple for maximum comfort. Hop-on hop-off buses often have limited space for large bags, so it’s best to travel with a small bag that holds just the essentials—water, sunscreen, and your camera.

Frequently asked questions about Hop-on Hop-off Barcelona tour

What if it rains during my tour?

Don't worry, most of the Hop-on Hop-off buses in Barcelona are equipped with retractable roofs to keep you dry in case of rain. However, you might want to pack a small, foldable umbrella just in case, as the top deck may remain open for those who prefer a rainy-day view.

Can I bring my own food and drinks on the bus?
