It was a wonderful, safe, long trip and we saw a lot. I would do it again any time :) Minus: - Seats are cramped - you should take a sun hat with you, the sun burns on your head

Great city tour, with Ville Franche as a bonus. The traffic flow made it possible to visit without delay. I was impressed by the accuracy of the timetables at the stations, and by the driver's agility in certain tight passages.

The guide couldn't pull up my ticket even after scanning the QR code that you all provided causing a delay in getting myself & others on the bus. He eventually just told me to get in the bus anyway

Each run lasts about 90 minutes if you stay on board, with buses leaving every 60 minutes between 11am and 4pm from Esplanade Georges Pompidou (Stop #1).

You’ll swing by the eye-catching Russian Church, cruise past Port Lympia, and hear fun history tidbits through the multilingual audio guide.

    Good to know

    • Stops: Old Town (Vieux Nice), Port Lympia, Russian Church, Villefranche Citadel, and more.
    • Frequency: Every 45 minutes
    • First Bus: 10am from Esplanade Georges Pompidou (Stop #1)
    • Last Bus: 5:30pm from Esplanade Georges Pompidou (Stop #1)

(You’ll receive a detailed map with your ticket or download it beforehand to plan your day.)

Top sights & things to do at each

    1/6

    Quai des États-Unis

Why go: The perfect starting point right on the Promenade des Anglais. Stroll along the seafront to soak in stunning coastal panoramas and watch the city come alive in the early morning.

Don’t miss: Morning coffee at a beachside café and people-watching as locals take their daily jog.

    Old Town (Vieux Nice)

Why go: A charming maze of pastel-hued buildings, bustling markets, and centuries-old churches. Lose yourself among the narrow lanes for a real taste of Niçoise heritage.

Don’t miss: The Cours Saleya market—try socca (chickpea pancake) and browse stalls brimming with flowers, fresh produce, and local crafts.

    Port Lympia

Why go: A postcard-worthy harbor lined with colorful façades, chic bars, and lively bistros; you’ll also find some of the city’s trendiest spots waiting to be captured. Stroll down Quai Lunel and keep a lookout for "Pointus", little colorful boats.

Don’t miss: Snapping photos of luxury yachts bobbing in the water, then grabbing a quick bite at a harbor-view restaurant—try Le Patio Restaurant & Terrasse if you’re craving a Mediterranean meal or Le Frog, if you’re in an experimental mood (re: frog legs).

    Russian Church

Why go: An unexpected piece of architecture in Nice. Its onion-domed silhouette stands out amid the Mediterranean scenery, making it a must-see cultural landmark.

Don’t miss: Admire the ornate interior details and, if time allows, stroll through the surrounding neighborhood for more local gems—a quick Niçoise bite at Le Bistroy or to pick up souvenirs from Libération Market.

    Villefranche Citadel

Why Go: A quick hop beyond central Nice takes you to Villefranche-sur-Mer and its 16th-century citadel. Stroll along the fort’s ramparts for breathtaking sea views and explore the quaint old town below.

Don’t Miss: Enjoying an alfresco lunch by the water—this tranquil bay is often far less crowded than Nice’s beaches.

    Other stops en route

Depending on the official route, you may also find stops near:

Mont Boron: A leafy hillside with knockout views of the coastline, perfect for a quieter sunset spot.

Promenade du Paillon: A lush urban park where kids can splash in water jets, and grown-ups can relax with a gelato.

Hop-on Hop-off buses are a great choice for

    1/4

    How to book tickets?

    Step 1: Choose your route

Each tour follows a unique route. Review the routes and stops and pick the tour that covers your must-see attractions.

    Step 2: Book your tickets

Purchase your Hop-on Hop-off tickets easily using PayPal, credit/debit card, or iDEAL.

    Step 3: Check your email

Receive your ticket voucher instantly in your inbox. If you don’t see it, check your spam or junk folder.

Step 4: Download the operator’s app

Track the bus in real-time, plan your journey, and explore routes with an interactive map.

    Step 5: Hop-on & explore!

Head to any designated stop, show your mobile voucher to the driver or staff, and start your adventure!

Tips to make the most of your Hop-on Hop-off tour

    • Hop on your tour bus (preferably) from the boarding point—to grab a good seat. Oftentimes, if you decide to board from a mid-route stop, chances are that the bus is full or no good seats are vacant.
    • If you have the time, begin with an entire loop once (90 minutes), mark the areas you want to explore, and board again to these stops.
    • Ask bus staff or fellow riders for lesser-known spots like Mont Boron for dreamy sunsets, Coco Beach for a peaceful dip, or Castle Hill’s hidden terraces for postcard-perfect views.
    • Indulge in fresh pastries at Libération Market or swing by Rue Bonaparte’s artsy bars for a real taste of Niçoise nightlife.
    • Timed right, you can hop off at Cours Saleya to snag fresh socca (chickpea pancake) or artisanal cheeses. A true taste of Niçoise life!

Love, the fact that we went to so many places. I really liked the perfumery. If you were looking for information on any of the places, like a historical tour, this is not a good option. Fortunately, I wasn't looking for that so it was fine. The guide wasn't great.
