Best time to visit Florence

The best time to visit Florence depends on your interests. In spring (April to June), Florence’s gardens are in full bloom, and outdoor activities are enjoyable without the summer heat. Fall (September to October) is ideal for wine lovers, as it coincides with the grape harvest in nearby Tuscany.

The summer months (July to August) can be hot and crowded, especially at famous landmarks like the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio, but the evenings are perfect for enjoying Florence’s vibrant nightlife. Winter (November to March) is quieter, with fewer tourists and shorter lines at museums.

For those seeking cultural events, the Easter celebrations and the Florence Biennale (conducted once in 2 years) are popular highlights.

Frequently asked questions about tours in Florence

I highly recommend visiting The Academia! Our guide Ilaria Di Gesualdo was great! Super knowledgeable and definitely made our visit more memorable! One of the highlights besides David was to see the musical instruments section! Seeing a viola made by Antonio Stradivari, an Spineta as well as other ancestors of the piano was very exciting! Highly recommend! Also, the price was fair in comparison to other websites!

Our tour of the Uffizi Museum with Sara was truly one of the highlights of our time in Florence. From the very beginning, she brought the museum to life in a way that made the experience both engaging and memorable. Sara’s knowledge of the artwork and history was impressive, but what really set her apart was her ability to tell the stories behind the pieces. She didn’t just guide us from room to room — she connected the art to the people, politics, and culture of the time, making everything feel meaningful and easy to understand. She was also incredibly attentive to our group, making sure everyone could see, hear, and stay engaged, even in the busier areas of the museum. Her pacing was perfect, allowing us time to appreciate the masterpieces without ever feeling rushed. Thanks to Sara, we left the Uffizi with a much deeper appreciation for the art and its significance. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking to make the most of their visit — she turned a world-class museum into an unforgettable experience.

I liked all the places we visited, each one was truly wonderful. Even though the weather was terrible, we still enjoyed the destinations. The guide (Ilaria) and the driver (Plácido) were great, super punctual. Maybe a little more time for sightseeing would have been better, but I understand that it would have made the day much longer, and it was already quite intense. As for lunch and the wine tasting at the winery, everything was pretty good, except for the lasagna, which, considering we were in Italy, wasn't what we expected... it tasted like "gas station food." But the rest of the day was fantastic. I would recommend it 100%.
