Opera Garnier: The palace of French musical legacy

Are you fascinated by stories of masked phantoms and dramatic chandelier crashes? Then, Opéra Garnier, immortalized in The Phantom of the Opera, is a must-see destination. This 19th-century masterpiece, with its stunning architecture and rich history, is one of Paris' most iconic landmarks.

Commissioned by Emperor Napoleon III and designed in grand Baroque style, the Palais Garnier has been the heart of French opera and ballet for generations. Step inside to discover where the Phantom's legend—and a real-life chandelier incident—still captivate visitors. Whether attending a performance or exploring its opulent halls, the Opéra Garnier offers a unique glimpse into Parisian culture.

Find the perfect ticket here; from guided tours to world-class performances, we’ll help you create an unforgettable experience at this cultural treasure.

Things to know before booking your tickets

  • When booking your Opera Garnier tickets, you'll need to choose a specific time slot for entry. Once inside, you're free to explore at your own pace for as long as you like. Just make sure you arrive on time—latecomers won’t be allowed entry, and rebooking may not always be possible.
  • Opera Garnier tickets provide access to the building, including its temporary and permanent exhibitions. However, the performance hall is typically closed to visitors during the day, so the only way to experience this iconic space is by attending an evening opera or ballet.
  • If you're interested in seeing a performance, be sure to check the schedule in advance. Tickets for performances are separate from general entry and tend to sell out quickly, so early booking is recommended to secure your seats.
  • For a fun twist on a traditional visit, try the Arsène Lupin Escape Game. This immersive 1.5-hour mystery-solving adventure lets you explore hidden corners of the opera house while solving clues inspired by the famous Arsène Lupin tales.
