What’s not allowed

  • Keep in mind food & beverages, narcotic substances, and sharp metallic tools or objects are not allowed on this experience. Pack wisely!

  • Guests who choose the hosted entry must enter with their designated host. Check your ticket carefully for the exact meeting point, and be sure to arrive on time. Your host will escort you through the entry process and share a 30-minute introductory brief before you explore on your own. Unlike a guide, they won’t accompany you inside the basilica.

Guided vs Self-Guided Tours

If you like walking in the company of a local expert, sign up for a guided tour. If you prefer your own company and strolling about at your pace, a self guided tour paired with an audio guide is perfect. Here's what you need to know about guided and self guided tours in Barcelona.

Walking tour

Guided Tour

A guided tour of Barcelona is especially handy when you are on a time crunch and don't know where to go. Your professional tour guide will take you to the most renowned (and lesser-explored) spots in the city and dole out interesting facts about Barcelona. A guided tour also means you get to save a lot of money, as booking guided tours online in advance let you make the best use of discounts and exclusive offers.

Self-Guided Tour

A self-guided tour lets you explore the city and its many attractions all by yourself. Since you won't be accompanied by a guide or a group in tow, you can explore the city at your own pace. However, if you aren't sure about where to go, what to do or how to go about it, a guided tour is a much better option. You might also be expected to shell out more money while visiting attractions as you won't find the kind of discounts you would online.

What I liked most about the tour was the combination of nature and culture. The train ride was comfortable and very easy to follow, and upon arrival, the monastery made an immediate impression. The audio guide is very well done and helps you understand the history of Montserrat and the significance of La Moreneta. The visit was well-organized, relaxed, and allowed plenty of time to enjoy the views and the atmosphere of the place.

I really appreciated the kindness of the people who welcome us tourists to these popular spots. Despite my somewhat rudimentary "Spanish," everyone was more than happy to give me information. Accompanied by bright sunshine, I immersed myself in the magic of Gaudí. A delightful detail: in a picturesque corner of Parc Güell, a young musician was playing the guitar and singing. She had a beautiful voice and an original style. It was very relaxing. In conclusion, I hope everyone gets the chance to visit these places. And I recommend that everyone book their admission tickets in advance. They were sold out everywhere. Have a great trip!

Loved the place, it looked fantastic and the tour guide, Albert, was incredible as well. Explained everything clearly and he's knowledgeable about the story of both the creation of Sagrada Familia and the story of the bible. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

The audio-guided tour was fantastic—I could listen again to anything I might have missed due to distraction. A fantastic experience!
