  • By subway: Karlsplatz station on U1, U2, or U4 is about a 5-minute walk to the Musikverein.
  • By tram: Lines 1, 2, D, and 71 all serve Oper/Karlsplatz, close to the entrance.
  • By bus: Bus 59A stops at Oper/Karlsplatz, just a short distance away.

Facilities & Accessibility

Available facilities: Cloakroom: For security reasons, coats, bags, rucksacks, and umbrellas must be handed in at the cloakroom. The cloakroom opens 30 minutes before the performance. Restrooms: The venue is equipped with three wheelchair-accessible restrooms: one in the 2nd foyer (second basement floor), one at the main entrance on the right, and another at the balcony boxes on the left. Café and dining options: Gerstner Catering operates the gastronomic services within the Musikverein. The buffet in the Erste Bank foyer opens one hour before the performance. Additionally, a rich buffet is available during breaks in the Gottfried-von-Einem-Saal on the first floor. Bars are also located to the left and right of the standing parterre and on the gallery level, depending on the event. Parking facilities: While the Musikverein does not have its own parking, several parking garages are nearby, including Garage Opernringhof, Kärntnerstraße underground car park, Kärntnerring Garage, Palais Corso Garage, and Karlsplatzgarage. Note that the surrounding districts are short-stay parking zones with specific regulations.

Accessibility: Wheelchair access: The Musikverein offers a barrier-free entrance located to the right of the main entrance, accessible via a ramp with automatic sliding doors. Inside, elevators provide access to all floors, ensuring that guests with mobility challenges can navigate the premises comfortably. Elevators: Elevators are available throughout the building, facilitating access to various concert halls and facilities. Staff assistance: The box office is not wheelchair accessible; however, staff are available to assist. A bell is located to the right of the entrance to summon assistance for ticket purchases. Designated seating areas: Designated wheelchair spaces are available in all halls. In the Great Hall (Großer Saal), there are two wheelchair seats in the orchestra and approximately 16 in the balcony. The Brahms Hall offers six wheelchair seats, while the Glass Hall/Magna Auditorium has four. Service dogs: Visitors with assistance dogs are welcome but must register in advance to ensure appropriate seating arrangements. A disability pass indicating the need for an assistance dog must be presented upon admission.
