The main entrance, situated to the south of the gardens, features a decorative gatehouse and ticket office. Adjacent to it are stops for the Keukenhof Express Bus, tour buses, and taxis, along with ample parking spaces.

Located to the north of the gardens, the extra entrance operates exclusively during peak times. It provides a smaller parking area for cars and bikes.

The word ‘Keukenhof’ can be translated to ‘kitchen garden’ in Dutch, in reference to the herbs that used to be gathered in the area for the castle kitchen.

To ensure Keukenhof 2026 stays in bloom for eight weeks, gardeners plant bulbs in layers. Early bloomers sit on top, while late bloomers wait underneath.

7,000 kilograms. That is the approximate weight of the flower bulbs provided by nearly 100 royal suppliers to create the annual display.

The park’s famous Windmill was actually a gift from the Holland-America Line in 1957, originally built in 1892 in Groningen.

Smoking is not allowed in the gardens, but there are designated smoking areas near the restaurants and cafes inside the park.

There are a number of restaurants and cafes within the park, and outside food is not allowed.

Dogs are allowed in Keukenhof as long as they are on a leash, with a maximum of one dog per person. However, dogs are not allowed in the pavilions or restaurants, with the exception of guide dogs.

Keukenhof is a seasonal attraction and is only open for eight weeks during the spring. In 2026, the gardens are open daily from March 19 to May 10.

The Keukenhof is very very beautiful and the whole experience was very smooth. We had a person in a wheelchair and especially appreciated how easy and accessible everything was. 
Being Dutch I have seen plenty of tulips in my life but the variety and sea of colour is spectacular.

It was so many people it was hard to enjoy the park, lots of Tourist waiting to take selfies everywhere. It didnt felt athentic, the shops sold ugly dutch souvenires. The restaurants had bad food and opened late.
