The geographical features of these villages make many paths uneven and vertically inclined, which renders many landmarks and trails inaccessible by wheelchair and strollers. However, the park and its transport system has a lot of accessible infrastructure that offers a degree of accessibility. Monterosso al Mare and the ‘Way of Love’ trail from Riomaggiore to Manarola are reported to be the most accessible places on the coast.
The entire region is made up of five villages, however, only four of them sit on the coast. Corniglia is further inside, not connected to the sea. Your day trips will not make a stop here, but you can access it by the local train or mountain trails.
Cinque Terre's coastal line is steep and jagged, so there aren't many wide sandy shores. Instead, the coast has many small coves, beaches, and bays, some of which are only accessible by sea. An exception is the large and sandy Fegina, the main public beach of Monterosso al Mare.
