    Moulin Rouge! The Musical in London springs from Baz Luhrmann’s visionary film and the dream to let that cinematic magic shine on stage.     Storyline

    Moulin Rouge! The Musical in London tells the love story of two young people whose paths cross when they meet at Paris' renowned Moulin Rouge. Christian is an impoverished English writer who embraces Bohemian beliefs despite his father's disapproval. On the other side of the channel is Satine, a can-can dancer who aspires to be a professional actress. When the two meet, a humorous and beautiful love tale emerges, which will have you cheering for them. The Duke, on the other hand, controls the deeds of Moulin Rouge and thus Satine's future in his hands, putting an end to their romance. Will he succeed? Will Christian and Satine find happiness?     The Piccadilly Theatre is nestled just off London’s bustling Piccadilly Circus. The theater was built by Bertie Crewe and Edward A. Stone for Edward Laurillard and opened in 1928. Its basic exterior hides a lavish Art Deco interior planned by Marc-Henri Levy and Gaston Laverdet, with an auditorium adorned in tones of pink. The bars and foyer, including the original light fixtures, are dominated by gold and green. Over the decades, it has hosted everything from ballet and opera to major musicals like Grease, Jersey Boys, and Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
