Leave the theme parks behind and head into the heart of real Florida with Wild Florida tours. Just 45 mins from Orlando, Wild Florida airboat tours whisk you into the untouched wilderness of the Central Florida Everglades. Skim across the water at exhilarating speeds, spot alligators in their natural habitat, and meet animals from around the globe at the Wildlife Park.

Book smart: Insider tips for booking your Wild Florida boat tour

  • Know the park: Wild Florida is located in Kenansville, about 45 mins south of Orlando. Set on the edge of a 4,200-acre preserve at the headwaters of the Everglades, it offers a real-deal airboat experience through natural marshlands rather than manmade canals.
  • Short on time? Take the 30-min Everglades Airboat Tour, a quick, thrilling glide across the wetlands that still includes full access to the Wild Florida Gator Park.
  • For more time on the water: The 1-hour tour lets you explore deeper into 100,000 acres of protected swamps and marshes, doubling your chances of spotting gators, eagles, and more.
  • Combine with other Wild Florida experiences: If you want to see even more animals, consider adding the Drive-Thru Safari Park to your day. It's a separate ticket, but easy to fit in before or after your boat tour.

Your Wild Florida tours explained

Airboat tours

  • Both options include full access to the Wild Florida Gator Park, where you can watch live animal shows and meet over 200 species of native and exotic animals.

Wildlife Park: 9am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday

Airboat Tours: 9am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday (last tour leaves at 4:30pm)

Drive-thru Safari: 9am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday (last car allowed to enter at 5pm)

  • Try to book your airboat tour before 11am, especially in the warmer months. That’s when gators and birds are most active, and the temperatures are still comfortable.
  • Weekdays have fewer crowds. If you can swing a visit on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, you’ll skip the weekend rush and enjoy a more relaxed vibe.
  • Cooler months are the best time to visit, especially December to April. The weather’s mild, animals are easier to spot, and it’s all-around more comfortable. Summer (May to September) brings the heat and afternoon showers, but if you don’t mind that, you’ll have the park mostly to yourself.

Address: 3301 Lake Cypress Rd, Kenansville, FL 34739, United States | Find on Maps

Getting there by car:

  • From Orlando: Take the Florida Turnpike south to Exit #244 (Kissimmee-St. Cloud). Head east on US-192 for 5 miles, then turn right on Vermont Avenue. After 12 miles (Vermont becomes Canoe Creek Rd), turn right onto Lake Cypress Road. Wild Florida is 2 miles ahead on your left.
  • From Disney area: Go east on US-192 to Saint Cloud, turn right on Vermont Avenue, then follow the same directions as above.
  • From Melbourne: Take US-192 west for about 40 miles to Saint Cloud, then left on Vermont Avenue, continue 12 miles, and right on Lake Cypress Road.

Getting there by public transport: There’s no public transportation to Wild Florida. Renting a car is your best bet.

  • There’s a wheelchair-friendly ramp that takes you from the gift shop down to the airboat area. Just a heads-up: there are a few steps onto the boat itself, so a little help may be needed to board.
  • The Gator Park is super easy to navigate. Everything is on the ground level, and the paths are smooth and made of compacted shell and concrete.
  • All the main restrooms and common areas are wheelchair accessible.
  • Service animals are welcome in most parts of the park, just not on the airboats.
  • If you're visiting the Gator Park with anyone under 16 years old, make sure they're with an adult at all times.
  • Furry friends will have to sit this one out. No pets are allowed in the park.
  • As tempting as it is, please don’t touch or feed the animals; they’re on a special diet and need their space.
  • Keep things calm. Avoid yelling, teasing, or tapping on the glass. Loud noises and sudden movements can really stress the animals out.
  • Tossing anything into the habitats isn’t safe for the animals, so please don’t.
  • For your own safety, stay on the paths and don’t climb over any fences or barriers.
  • The entire Gator Park is smoke- and vape-free.
  • Check in at least 45 mins before your scheduled airboat tour so you have time to park, grab a snack, and get settled.
  • Dress for the outdoors. Lightweight clothes, comfy shoes, sunscreen, and sunglasses will go a long way in the Florida sun.
  • Don’t skip the Gator Park. Admission is included with most tickets, and it’s packed with over 200 animals, shows, and fun photo ops.
  • Book giraffe feeding in advance. For a small fee, you can hand-feed the giraffes at the Safari Park; it’s a guest favorite and totally worth it.
  • Stay hydrated. Florida heat is no joke, so keep a water bottle handy; there are spots to refill inside the park.

Chomp House Grill

After all the exploring, swing by Chomp House Grill for a casual fare. You’ll find everything from smoked barbecue, pulled pork, and juicy cheeseburgers to crispy chicken tenders and fan-favorite gator bites. There are also kid-friendly options and refreshing drinks to help you cool off. Grab a seat inside or dine outdoors with views of the Adventure Park.

Timings: Open daily from 9am to 5pm

Frequently asked questions about Steamboat Natchez cruises

How far in advance should I book Wild Florida tours?

Booking your tours at least a week in advance is smart, especially in the cooler months when wildlife is more active and tour slots fill up quickly.

Can I combine multiple Wild Florida experiences in one day?

Definitely. You can book an airboat ride, plus the Drive-Thru Safari and Gator Park in a single visit.

Is Wild Florida suitable for kids and toddlers?

Absolutely! Wild Florida tours are a hit with families. Little ones love the up-close animal encounters and the Drive-Thru Safari. Just keep in mind that airboat rides have a minimum age of 2 years, and noise-canceling headphones are recommended for young ears.

Can I take a stroller around the park?

Yes. Gator Park is stroller-friendly, with flat, compact shell paths. Just note that strollers aren’t permitted on the airboats, so plan to park them before your ride.

What’s the difference between the 30-min and 1-hour airboat tours?

Both offer incredible views and wildlife, but the 1-hour tour goes deeper into the marshlands. You’ll cover more ground, see more wildlife, and enjoy a longer, wilder ride. It’s perfect for photographers and nature lovers.

Are Wild Florida airboat tours loud?

The engines are powerful, and your airboat tours can get loud. But don’t fret, hearing protection is provided. You can also bring your own noise-canceling headphones, especially for kids or guests sensitive to sound.

Are there restrooms on the airboats?

Nope. These are open-air, fast-moving vessels. You can use the restrooms near the gift shop or Gator Park before boarding.

Is Wild Florida worth it if I’ve already done an Everglades tour in South Florida?

It most definitely is. While South Florida Everglades tours show you vast sawgrass prairies and mangrove tunnels, Wild Florida reveals a totally different side of the ecosystem. Set in Central Florida, it’s more marshland than swamp. Think wide-open skies, glassy lakes, cypress-lined wetlands, and thriving bird colonies. Plus, you get the bonus of a full wildlife park and drive-thru safari, all in one spot. So even if you’ve been down south, this tour delivers a fresh, thrilling, and uniquely Central Florida take on the wild.

This was fun! We saw multilpe alligators, birds, a large iguana which hid itselt looking like a tree branch, and had an amazing experience riding airboat through evergrlades while learning interesting facts about alligators, birds, and everglades. Then, we visited the animal exhibit and saw a cool turtle & snake presentation, saw more alligators, and tasted gator bites from the food truck. An awesome Florida experience. Can't believe we've visited Florida many times and never had this cool experience before. Higly recommend it!

An airboat ride that truly surprised me fast, wild, and full of life. We spotted seven alligators and a turtle, but the real highlight was our driver’s skillful, playful maneuvers that made the whole experience feel like a mini adventure show. Absolutely unforgettable.

I went two times and the last day at the Everglades was fantastic, our boat captain Nadim was amazing; he took us to different areas and we saw three crocodiles. When he did the "Tokyo Drift" we were all astonished, great maneuvering and control. The facilites are clean and everithing is very well organized. Very sage and highly recommended. I will be back! Thank you
