Szechenyi Baths | Budapest's largest thermal baths complex

With around 15 indoor and 3 outdoor pools, the Szechenyi Baths are one of the largest and most popular bath complexes in Hungary. The bath waters are supplied by two natural thermal springs, rich in minerals, and are known to have healing properties. The Szechenyi Baths maintain their waters at different temperatures and also offer many wellness treatments to make sure that you are fully relaxed and rejuvenated.

Why visit Szechenyi Baths in Budapest?

Why Visit Széchenyi Baths?
  • Varied pools & amenities: Whether you prefer a warm, relaxing soak or an invigorating cold plunge, Szechenyi Baths has it all. Additionally, there are saunas, steam rooms, and various spa services available, providing a comprehensive wellness experience.
  • Unique thermal bath experience: Szechenyi Thermal Bath complex is known for its healing bath waters. If you want to relax after a day of sightseeing or simply want to unwind on your travels, Szechenyi's warm thermal waters will provide the ultimate soothing experience.
  • Stunning architecture: The baths are housed in a beautiful Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance building dipped in a striking shade of yellow, adding to the overall charm of the place.
  • Exciting social events: The Szechenyi Thermal Baths are also known for their summer night parties, which take place on most Saturdays, from 9:30pm to 2am. These 'sparties' offer the perfect outlet to let loose and splash to the music.
  • Cultural experience: These thermal baths have been an integral part of the Hungarian lifestyle for centuries. It's a chance to connect with local customs and experience a beloved pastime cherished by generations.

Things to know before booking your Szechenyi Spa tickets

  • Szechenyi Baths entry tickets come with various options. You can choose between a standard entry with a locker or a private cabin for storage and changing. For added convenience, you can upgrade your ticket to include fast-track entry, allowing you to skip the line during morning or afternoon slots.
  • All Szechenyi tickets provide full-day access to Szechenyi Spa's 15 indoor and 3 outdoor pools, sauna, and steam cabins. You can relax for as long as you'd like, making it a great value for those who want to unwind for the entire day.
  • You can maximize your visit by choosing combo tickets that bundle the Szechenyi Thermal Baths with additional experiences like a Danube River Cruise, Hungarian Parliament Audio Guided Tour, or a Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour. These packages offer around 5-6% savings compared to booking each experience separately.
  • All combo tickets allow you to split the experiences across different days, which means you can fully relax at the baths one day and visit the next attraction on another day—maximizing your experiences while saving money.
  • For something truly memorable, opt for the Sparty tickets. These offer access to the famous late-night Szchenyi Spa parties every Saturday, where you can enjoy electronic music and visual shows while soaking in the thermal baths. Combo Sparty tickets are also available that combine a full day at the spa with entry to the Sparty.
  • Popular Szchenyi Thermal Baths tickets, especially the Sparty and combo packages, tend to sell out quickly. So, try to book your tickets at least 3-4 weeks in advance to secure a spot on your preferred date and time—particularly on weekends and holidays.
  • Kids under 14 are not allowed in saunas, steam rooms, plunge pools, or indoor thermal pools due to their high mineral content. They can only use the outdoor pools, including the swimming pool and leisure pool, which do not contain thermal water. Infants are only permitted in pools if they are fully toilet-trained. The use of swimming diapers is strictly prohibited.

The cruise was amazing, 1 hour of enjoyment through the danube ! Budapest is the perfect city to do a cruise, there's so many beautiful places and buildings to see, especially by night ! Thanks to the crew for their kindness and caring, particularly with strangers. Also, the audioguide was great and taught me many facts. I recommend and will surely do it again, thanks you !

The views were spectacular—we didn't get cold since we stayed inside, and we still loved it. We went with the basic package without the glass of champagne, but it wasn't necessary because you can order one there if you want. I recommend downloading the app they mention so you can listen to the commentary as you go. I'd definitely do it again. I usually get seasick on boats, but I didn't this time—it went very smoothly.

Great DJ, good vibes and well organised. The only thing that let it down was the price of the beer and cocktails. We are a target market and can not buy elsewhere. 6euro for a plastic cup of beer that is not even a pint? The tickets where expensive any way and yes it's a great experience but that is in my opinion too much

We had a great day and enjoyed the wellness experience. The receptionist at the day spa reception was an amazing person going out of her way to help. The girl serving the teas and drinks was not quite so helpful. The pools and saunas made a very relaxing day
