Since opening in 2014, Aladdin has reigned as one of Broadway’s most spectacular family musicals. Adapted from Disney’s 1992 animated classic, the show transforms the streets of Agrabah into a glittering kingdom of song, dance, and illusion. Under the direction and choreography of Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon), the production’s dynamic staging and exuberant performances keep audiences captivated. The score by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), with lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin, includes the Academy Award®-winning “A Whole New World” and introduces heartfelt ballads like “Proud of Your Boy.” Dazzling costume design by Gregg Barnes and ornate sets by Bob Crowley turn every scene into a feast for the eyes. Critics have hailed Aladdin as “pure Broadway magic” (The Wall Street Journal), a vibrant celebration of imagination, love, and discovery that continues to sparkle night after night at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

    Storyline

Set in the fictional city of Agrabah, Aladdin is a resourceful young man scraping by when his life changes after a fateful encounter with a magical lamp. Along the way, Aladdin must decide whether it’s better to be himself or someone he pretends to be, and audiences alike will wonder which path he’ll choose.

First of all, the sets were absolutely stunning, and then the singers and actors made the show fabulous. It was magical. The theater was also very beautiful; the only downside was that the space in front of the seats was too small. But I'm tall, so that's often the case. I highly recommend it
